Cottrell’s grandfather, the third Baron Manton, inherited a “family soap empire”. The future Farage ally reportedly left education without A-levels after being expelled from Malvern College, an independent school in Worcestershire, due to a “gambling addiction”. The Lagos State Government has accused some social media influencers and bloggers of circulating misleading images of flooding from other locations and falsely presenting them as scenes from Lagos. The state’s Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, made the allegation in a post on X on Sunday, stating that the practice aimed to promote what he described as a “destructive narrative” about flooding in the state. Mr Wahab stated that the government had observed a trend in which flood images from other Nigerian states and countries were shared online and falsely attributed to Lagos. “We have watched…
President Donald Trump on Sunday thanked football’s world governing body for suspending the red card issued to USA’s Folarin Balogun, paving the way for the star striker to play in a last-16 showdown against Belgium in the World Cup. “Thank you to FIFA for doing what was right, and reversing a great injustice!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, shortly after FIFA announced its decision to suspend the red card Balogun was given last week against Bosnia, which would have ruled him out of Monday’s match with Belgium.

The rising singer-songwriter kicked off his set with his new single, “From a Different Age,” which shows off what he does well: achingly pretty folk-rock tunes that combine an a delicate croon, subtly atmospheric kick, and gut-punch choruses, sort of like a more anthemic Bon Iver.
Enitan Bello Independently searched Nigeria’s budget documents from 2019 to the present. Here is what I found about the PFIPC scandal that nobody is talking about. The name did not come from nowhere. The Presidential Economic Advisory Council is not a Tinubu creation. Tinubu’s economic body is called the Presidential Economic Coordination Council. He established it in March 2024, inaugurated it in July 2024, and chairs it himself…

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), an omega-3 fatty acid found in abundance in oily fish such as mackerel and sardines, is thought to improve cognitive function by supporting connections between brain cells. However, it has never been conclusively demonstrated that DHA taken as a dietary supplement actually reaches the brain or provides measurable benefits against dementia.Against this backdrop, a research team at the USC School of Medicine has published the results of a large, two-year clinical trial involving older adults at elevated risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. The study found that while high-dose DHA supplements do indeed reach the brain, they did…
