Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed that the state is facing a shortage of approximately 40,000 doctors and 40,000 nurses, warning that the healthcare system also requires at least N100 billion more than its current budget to adequately cater to the state’s growing population. The runway at Benin Airport, Edo State, has been reopened for flight operations, 12 days after an Enugu Air aircraft veered off the runway shortly after landing, disrupting services at the airport. Arrests of migrants working illegally in the UK have doubled since Labour has been in government, the Home Office has said.It said more than 17,000 arrests had been made since July 2024, a 122% increase on the previous two years, with a record number of immigration raids and arrests in the last six months.
