Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Leicester City over a potential deal for highly rated teenage midfielder Louis Page as Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
According to BBC Sport, Manchester United are actively working on a deal for the 18-year-old England U20 international, with negotiations between the two clubs understood to be ongoing.
Page has emerged as one of the most promising young midfielders outside the Premier League and was named EFL Apprentice of the Year last season.

United target Leicester prospect
Page has already made 21 senior appearances for Leicester despite his young age, including five starts during the club’s Championship campaign last season before their relegation.
His latest appearance came in Leicester’s Carabao Cup victory over Northampton on Saturday.
United’s interest comes as the club continues to reshape Carrick’s squad ahead of a season that will include Champions League football.
The Red Devils have already completed six major signings this summer, with Karl Darlow, Kit Margetson, Cristian Orozco, Tynan Thompson, Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans joining the club.
United are still looking to strengthen in several positions, including left-back, striker and midfield.
The club’s owners, INEOS, are keen to add further depth and young talent to Carrick’s squad as United prepare to compete on multiple fronts.
Page turned 18 last month and could become the latest highly rated Leicester academy product to leave the club.
Page joined Leicester’s academy at U-nine level and progressed through the club’s youth system before making his senior debut against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup in August 2025.
He signed his first professional contract with Leicester in September 2025, when the club described him as “one of the brightest talents in our system”.
Because Page remains under contract with the League One club, United would need to negotiate a transfer fee to secure his services.
With talks now underway, United will hope to reach an agreement for the midfielder before rival clubs can make their own moves for one of Leicester’s most promising young players.
