Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario joined Juventus from Tottenham Hotspur on a one-year loan, with an option to make the move permanent, the two clubs said Tuesday.
The Italy international, 29, is expected to take over in goal from Michele Di Gregorio for the Serie A side, who will play in the Europa League this season, having failed to qualify for the Champions League.
“There’s another new Bianconero in Turin,” Juventus wrote in a statement announcing the move. “Welcome to Juventus, Guglielmo!”
At Spurs, Vicario was usurped by Antonin Kinsky as first choice towards the end of last season under Roberto De Zerbi as the North London side narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.
The shot-stopper joined Tottenham in 2023 from Empoli, after previous stints at Udinese, Venezia, Perugia and Cagliari.
He made 117 appearances for the Premier League team, keeping 29 clean sheets, and playing a crucial role in the club’s Europa League success in 2025.
