When I was a postdoctoral researcher, I spent several years teaching at an interdisciplinary research institute in Vienna, Austria. There, my main course sought to train master’s students—mostly biologists and veterinarians—to write a philosophical reflection on some aspect of the comparative cognition studies they were running.
