NBC and the Television Academy have announced the first group of presenters set to join host Mariska Hargitay on stage at the 78th Emmy Awards on September 14.
It includes Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd, stars of the classic 1976 series Charlie’s Angels, likely reuniting to mark the show’s 50th anniversary.
The list of presenters also sets another expected reunion, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz, the latter also promoting his new NBC series, The Rockford Files. The cult vampire drama is headed into its 30th anniversary this coming March.
Also on hand will be Emmy-winning Schitt’s Creek alums Dan Levy, who has a new Netflix series, Big Mistakes, and Annie Murphy, who may be part of a tribute to fellow Emmy-winning Schitt’s Creek star, the late Catherine O’Hara.
The batch of presenters includes Emmy-nominated Zendaya, two-time winner for Euphoria, as well as DTF St. Louis’ Linda Cardellini and David Harbour, who on Sunday won the Supporting Actress/Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie categories that were moved out of the main telecast this year.
Also presenting are Sally Field, an Emmy nominee for Remarkably Bright Creatures, and Alan Cumming, who won another Emmy for hosting Peacock’s The Traitors on Saturday. Cumming is among several big NBCUniversal stars that will be showcased at the ceremony alongside host Hargitay, the Emmy-winning star of Law & Order: SVU; and fellow presenters Boreanaz; Peter Krause, who headlines the new NBC drama Line Of Fire; Amy Poehler, star of the new Peacock comedy Dig, The ‘Burbs‘ Keke Palmer and Saturday Night Live standout Marcello Hernández.
The list of Emmy presenters also includes I Love LA stars Rachel Sennott & Odessa A’zion, Your Friends and Neighbors stars Jon Hamm (Emmy winner for Mad Men) & Amanda Peet; Macaulay Culkin; Emmy Winners Niecy Nash-Betts and Julianna Margulies as well as Florence Pugh, star of the upcoming Netflix limited series East of Eden.
The 78th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from the Peacock Theater on Monday, Sept. 14, on NBC and Peacock.
