University of Maryland astronomers have identified a dormant supermassive black hole positioned far from the center of its host galaxy. The discovery marks the first time scientists have found an inactive black hole at such a great distance from a galactic core. The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 establishments for violating environmental regulations in Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the agency announced the enforcement action in a statement posted on its official X handle on Thursday. LASEPA said the affected establishments operated in the Ijora Causeway and Apapa areas of the state. It said the facilities were sealed after persistently violating environmental regulations in spite of repeated warnings and abatement notices.
