Last weekend, after one of his researchers resigned over fears that AI could lead to human extinction, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei wrote about the need for outside organizations “to verify adherence to safety practices and commitments, report incidents, and help assess the alignment of not just completed AI models but training pipelines and processes.” Executives at OpenAI, Google, and SpaceXAI have already rallied around Amodei’s plan, which has quickly become a central pillar of the emerging AI safety push. But there may be a simpler and more effective fix hiding in plain sight. Internet security experts say the labs need…

‘You’re going to Samobor? You must try kremšnita,” my Dubrovnik friends told me before I set off on my trip north. “But I’ve already had kremšnita in Zagreb,” I told them. They do it better in Samobor, they insisted. I wasn’t about to get embroiled in a battle of the cream cakes in a region where Croatians, Slovenes and Austrians all like to celebrate their own versions of this decadently thick, fat custard slice topped with puff pastry and icing sugar. But I was more than willing – happy, even – to follow everyone’s suggestions to try kremšnita in Hotel…

The CES was conducted on the web by the YouGov survey firm; respondents were selected from an opt-in panel using a sample matching and weighting methodology that yields estimates aiming to approximate those obtained…
By Adegboyega Adeleye Real Madrid have defended Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior after the forwards obscured a solidarity message for the people of Ceuta before Tuesday’s LaLiga clash with Elche. A Real Madrid official told Reuters that the club accepted Elche’s request for both teams to wear shirts in solidarity with Ceuta, but respected differing opinions within the organisation and gave each player the freedom to decide whether or not to wear the shirt. The players emerged before the match wearing shirts bearing the message, “Todos somos caballas” — “We are all mackerels” — with caballas being a nickname for…
