According to my Instagram feed, I am not doing enough. Not spending enough, not saying enough, not taking enough care. I feel more sure of this than anything. And it’s bringing out an irrationality I’m not proud of: one afternoon, in between screengrabs of masked men snatching civilians from their homes, videos of wellness influencers evangelising “anti-trauma” hip stretches, and carousels of political action items disguised as catchy memes, I am served a targeted ad for a “Don’t Talk to Me About AI or I’ll Kill Myself” crochet pattern; and even though I have never crocheted anything in my life,…
Forget the tactical drawing boards and the clinical European analysis. The ongoing 2026 World Cup has officially turned into a vibrant, high-octane African festival. If the first few weeks of football have revealed anything, it is that Africa is driving the pulse of this tournament. Here is how the continent is stealing the show across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. 1. The Players Are Balling (With Ultimate Motherly Backing!) On the pitch, African players are pulling off masterclasses, but the real magic is happening in the narrative. Take Cape Verde’s legendary goalkeeper Vozinha. He isn’t just making jaw-dropping, gravity-defying…

I sure didn’t want what happened to occur, at least not during my vacation, of all things. But it did, and we have to deal with the fallout head-on because it came as such a surprise to many. Imagine for a moment there were five geese — Amazon , Alphabet , Microsoft , Meta Platforms , and Apple — and they were laying golden eggs like mad. No other stocks have consistently produced eggs like these five. It was like a fairy tale. Now that the fairy tale ended a long time ago, their incredible businesses, tremendous leadership, and franchises —…
China’s Zhipu AI (Z.ai) released its open-weight GLM-5.2, and some researchers have claimed that it matches Mythos in certain bug-finding and cybersecurity scenarios. While GLM lags behind models from Anthropic and OpenAI in other, more general tasks, it seems that China has dramatically reduced the gap in the capabilities between its models and those of the US.This level of advancement is particularly concerning to the US government, which has worked to restrict China’s access to powerful models like Anthropic’s Mythos and Fable, as well as the hardware necessary to train and run them. The Trump administration views Mythos and other…
