A judge has ruled the US Department of Defense acted unlawfully when it designated artificial intelligence (AI) startup Anthropic a supply chain risk, calling the move “illegal and baseless”.The company argued in the lawsuit that Defense Secretary Pete Hegeth overstepped his authority with the new designation. Rivian’s chief financial officer Claire McDonough is resigning her position at the end of October, the company announced in a regulatory filing Thursday. The company said McDonough is stepping down to “pursue a new opportunity and relocate to the East Coast to be closer to her family.” McDonough has been hired as CFO at Massachusetts-based GE Vernova, according to the energy equipment manufacturer and her own post on LinkedIn. The police in Cross River State have arrested two men over alleged vandalism and theft of facilities belonging to Akamkpa Quarry Limited, also known as Sterling Global, in Akamkpa Local Government Area. Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has said the premises of the state’s Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, were previously used as a centre for drug trafficking.
