The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has constituted a 40-member Local Organising Committee (LOC) for its 2026 Annual General Conference. NBA stated that the conference is scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from 21 to 28 August. The committee, constituted by NBA President, Afam Osigwe, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), will work with the Annual General Conference Planning Committee (AGCPC) to coordinate preparations for the association’s flagship annual gathering. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it uncovered three illicit drug warehouses in Edo State, recovering 2,596.29kg of assorted narcotics in its operations in July. The State Commander of the NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju, disclosed this on Thursday in Benin, while decorating 73 newly promoted officers of the command. Mr Ofoyeju said 49 suspected drug traffickers were also arrested in major crackdown across the state within the period.
