Felix Ifijeh. Nigeria’s financial system has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade. From cash-dominated transactions to instant transfers, mobile banking, digital wallets and fintech-driven financial services, the country has steadily built one of Africa’s most dynamic digital payments ecosystems. But as digital transactions continue to surge, the question is no longer simply how quickly money can move. The bigger question is whether the infrastructure supporting that movement can become smarter, safer, more interconnected and capable of supporting the next phase of economic growth. From this vantage point, Roman will conduct an unprecedented survey of the universe. Its field of view is 100 times larger than Hubble’s and, according to NASA, it can survey the sky 1,000 times faster using its 300-megapixel infrared camera. Roman also has a Coronagraph system that can block and mask glare from stars, allowing it to directly image exoplanets, even smaller, older, and colder planets orbiting close to their stars.Roman will also conduct detailed 3D scans to help map the distribution of dark matter and narrow down the potential candidates for its makeup. Using the same 3D scans and…

As he arrives back in the UK after being deported from the US by the Trump administration, the far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos may be wondering what lies ahead for him in his native country. The “alt-right” agitator, 41, made his name in the US by promoting Donald Trump and associating with his allies before the 2016 election. But now the Trump administration has unceremoniously dumped the former Breitbart News editor back in the UK after he allegedly overstayed his visa. He has also made plenty of disparaging comments about the president, including that he is “firmly off the Trump train”.Those in the…

Physics allows for black holes far smaller than the enormous objects typically found at the centers of galaxies or created when massive stars collapse. Under the right conditions, microscopic black holes could also form when spacetime enters an unusual critical state and organizes into a repeating, crystal-like pattern. Researchers from Goethe University Frankfurt and TU Wien have now found a way to describe this process mathematically. For the first time, they derived an exact formula for the phenomenon by using an unconventional mathematical approach. Microscopic Black Holes and Critical Collapse Most familiar black holes are associated with violent cosmic events,…
