The incumbent governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has won his re-election bid after defeating 14 other candidates to win Saturday’s governorship election in the state. Mr Adeleke of the Accord party was formally declared the winner of the election by the INEC returning officer, Joshua Ogunwole, on Sunday morning at the INEC headquarters in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. The governor scored a total of 511,067 votes while his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, scored 444,815 votes. A Kebbi State High Court judge, Faruk Bunza, has pinpointed the hideout where his abductors held him for over a week, while raising concerns about insufficient security for judicial officers handling sensitive criminal cases.
