Speaking on the exhibition floor at GITEX Nigeria 2026 in Lagos, Chief Executive Officer of BluDive Technologies Limited, Mr Abdul-Azeez Musa, said it was high time the Nigerian tech ecosystem reduced its dependence on foreign technologies and strengthen its capacity to own and control critical technologies.
Mr Musa stated: “It is high time for the Nigerian technology industry to begin owning certain technologies. There will always be room for partnerships, but we have become overly dependent on foreign technologies. The more control we have, the stronger our position becomes in building partnerships.”

He explained that the push for greater technology ownership must be matched by a more strategic approach to technology investment, particularly for businesses navigating the cost and complexity of digital transformation.
According to him, BluDive works closely with business owners to understand their needs and guide them through technology investments in ways that support sustainable growth rather than placing undue pressure on their operations.
“Our role is to work with business owners, guide them and hand-hold them through their technology investments. We help them invest in tranches so that those investments do not scuttle their growth, but instead become a platform for them to grow and scale over the years,” he added.
Mr Musa noted that the rapid pace of technological change has fundamentally transformed the role of technology within businesses, making it central to their ability to operate, compete and scale.
“A decade ago, technology was seen as an enabler of the business. Today, technology is the heart of the business. If you are not investing in technology, you will become extinct very soon,” he concluded.

In the meantime, Mr Musa also disclosed that BluDive Technologies would be announcing new solution before the end of the year, stressing that the solutions are designed to help businesses scale more efficiently and at lower cost. Among the solutions highlighted are LinuxONE and PostgreSQL, which he said could help enterprises reduce their cost by about 40 per cent.
The company’s focus, he stressed, is not simply on providing businesses with technology, but on helping them make strategic investments that deliver long-term value while allowing them to scale sustainably.
