Scott Jamieson ended a 14-year wait for a DP World Tour title with an emotional home victory at the Nexo Championship, as overnight leader Shaun Norris faded after being given a mid-round penalty.
Jamieson overturned a two-shot deficit during an eventful final round at Trump International Golf Links, where a five-under 67 saw him finish on 11 under and two strokes clear of England’s Matthew Jordan.
The Scotsman mixed a lone bogey with six birdies – including four in a five-hole stretch around the turn – to pull clear of a congested leaderboard and claim a first DP World Tour title since December 2012.
Jordan ended runner-up ahead of England’s Andy Sullivan, with Quim Vidal, Marcus Kinhult and Keita Nakajima sharing fourth on six under, while Norris was a further stroke back after being handed a two-shot penalty on his front nine.
Norris was sharing the lead entering the back nine when he was assessed the penalty, having been deemed to have improved his stance, with the South African eventually posting a four-over 76 to end tied-seventh on five under.
